AAF Metro Phoenix was honored with a Buck Shot Award at the 14th annual "Arizona Big Shots" awards dinner held on May 18, 2010 at the Phoenix Country Club. The awards program is presented each year by The Arizona Partnership for Immunization (TAPI)  in recognition of organizations and individuals who work to improve the health and wellness of Arizona communities.

TAPI's Buck Shot award honors companies who have produced exceptional printed materials, PSAs, or other forms of communication that have educated the public and health care providers about immunizations. AAF Metro Phoenix received recognition for their media campaign which encouraged the community to get a flu shot and protect family members.

The campaign, made possible by donations from AAFMP members and local media companies, was part of AAFMP's Media Partnership Program, the organization's public service project.

Now in its fifth year, the AAFMP Media Partnership Program is offered exclusively to local non-profit organizations and provides an exceptional opportunity to maximize their media budgets.

The Arizona Partnership for Immunization (TAPI) was created to improve the immunization levels of children in Arizona and has recently expanded to include adolescents and adults. Cooperative efforts between the public and private sectors have become a major force in implementing system changes resulting in long-term improvements in immunization service delivery in Arizona. TAPI is a community-based initiative that includes private health plans, the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS), the Arizona Immunization Program Office (AIPO), voluntary service organizations, businesses, pharmaceutical companies, other governmental/public health agencies, and professional provider organizations.
